Ronaldinho’s Son Joins English Club After Departing Barcelona

Joao Mendes, the son of Barcelona and Brazil legend, Ronaldinho has reportedly left Barcelona academy, La Masia for English club, Burnley.

After a fruitful trial with the club, Mendes, then 17 years old, joined the Barcelona youth setup back in March 2023.

But under former manager Oscar Lopez, the talented young attacking midfielder was never able to establish himself in the Juvenil A squad.

In fact, the son of the legendary trickster played for the team in just nine games last season, not contributing to a single goal or assist.

Mendes was also occasionally called up by former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez to train with the first team.

The young player, nevertheless, has no intention of following in his father’s footsteps and excelling at Barcelona.

Now according to Barca Universal, because an extension could not be arranged, Mendes’ contract with the Blaugrana was terminated on June 30. As a result, the 19-year-old is now bringing his talents to England.
