Ronaldo Avoids Serious Injury After Fan Jumped At Him In Portugal’s Euro 2024 Defeat

Cristiano Ronaldo nearly gets wiped out after a fan jumped from the stands and landed in front of him following Portugal’s dismal loss to Georgia in the 2024 Euros.

Georgia and Portugal met on Wednesday night in Gelsenkirchen, where the 2016 edition winners have already qualified for the knockout stages.

Despite this, Ronaldo was started by Roberto Martinez, but the legendary forward was unable to stop his team from suffering an unexpected 2-0 loss.

According to The Metro, after being replaced in the 66th minute, Ronaldo was visibly upset. This is the first major competition in which he has not scored in the group stage.

Amazingly, though, that wasn’t the 39-year-old’s most stunning moment of the evening.

A fan sprang from the stands and fell squarely in front of the Portugal captain as the Manchester United and Real Madrid icon began his trip down the tunnel after the game.

If not for the steward’s prompt and courageous action of throwing himself in front of the player to keep him safe, he would have fallen straight on top of Ronaldo.

The horrifying event clearly shook Ronaldo, but he was unharmed. Nonetheless, it is unknown what became of the fan in question.

The event will also make people wonder more about the security at the Euros. Particularly in light of Ronaldo’s involvement and the fact that pitch invaders kept stopping Portugal’s victory over Turkey.

As Ronaldo became more and more upset, a young fan who wanted to take a selfie with CR7 was the first of at least six fans to rush onto the field of play in an attempt to meet their idol.
