Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 42nd career hat-trick during Portugal’s 6-0 demolition of Andorra, as he provided another reminder of why he is one of the world’s best forwards.
The Euro 2016 winners lost their opening World Cup qualifier 2-0 to Switzerland, but Ronaldo and co. ensured that they weren’t left red-faced in front of their own fans by comprehensively taking apart Andorra.
The Real Madrid forward scored twice within the first four minutes to get his side off to a flying start, before completing his hat-trick just two minutes into the second half.
A lack of discipline and a sense of frustration caused two Andorra players to lose their temper midway through the second half, as Marc Rebes was dismissed eight minutes after Rubio Gomez after was sent off.
Ronaldo also helped himself to a fourth goal in between the two sendings off, to take his total Portugal goals tally to 65.
The 31-year-old has already become the all-time record goalscorer for both his club and country, as he continues to dominate defences.
