Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his huge delight at returning to the pitch for Juventus after finally recovering from coronavirus, before refusing to answer questions after labelling the swab tests as ‘bull****’.
Ronaldo enjoyed a sensational return for Juventus on Sunday, coming off the bench with the scoreline at 1-1 against Spezia before scoring twice as Andrea Pirlo’s side ran out emphatic 4-1 winners.
The Portuguese forward had missed Juventus’ last four games in all competitions after contracting coronavirus but after his huge impact off the bench, Ronaldo could hardly wipe the smile off his face.
After his return was delayed following a second positive test result, which saw him miss a reunion against Barcelona in the Champions League, Ronaldo had slammed the ‘buls***’ Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing system.
And when quizzed on his opinion following Sunday’s full time whistle, Ronaldo refused to answer before replying to Sky Sport with a huge grin on his face: ‘Cristiano is back this is the most important thing.’
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also added: ‘I have been stationary. I had no symptoms and I felt good. Today I went back to doing what I like, playing football.
‘Serie A is a competitive league. Milan are doing a great job, as well as Lazio and Napoli. We have to work hard, but we are growing.’
Last Friday, Ronaldo finally returned a negative coronavirus test that allowed him to return to action for the Italian giants.
Ronaldo had originally tested positive for coronavirus while on duty with Portugal during the last international break.
