Ronaldo Desires Fernandes Leave Man United And Join Him In Saudi

Al Nassr superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants Manchester United ace, Bruno Fernandes to quit European club football and join him in Saudi Arabia next season.

According to the Daily Star, Al-Nassr have made Fernandes their top target. Ronaldo is pressuring the Saudi Pro league side to sign the Portuguese midfielder and they are prepared to spend a lot of money to do so.

United captain, Fernandes is believed to have met with club executives last week to talk about his future and the club’s future goals after growing disillusioned at Old Trafford. According to reports, Fernandes asked new United investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his football leadership group for guarantees regarding their plans for the team going forward.

The 29-year-old’s contract with United expires in 2027. So the club is not worried about losing him. However, United have acknowledged in private that they must match Fernandes’ goals—he has only won one trophy since joining the team in 2020.

After a terrible season, the Red Devils have failed to secure a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season and may not make it to Europe at all.

In December 2022, Al-Nassr signed free agent Ronaldo after the legendary player staged his departure from Old Trafford by claiming in a shocking interview that he did not think highly of manager Erik ten Hag.

The extravagant Saudi outfit hopes to bolster their squad in several areas, chief among them the acquisition of an attacking midfielder, with Fernandes the top choice.

This summer, Al-Nassr are anticipated to put United to the test with a big offer.
