Cristiano Ronaldo has equalled yet another stunning goalscoring record at Real Madrid this season, becoming the joint-top scorer in the history of Europe’s top six leagues.
Ronaldo grabbed Los Blancos’ equaliser on Sunday evening as they took on Real Betis at the Bernabeu, but that goal also saw him join Jimmy Greaves at the top of a very exclusive list. The strike was his 366th in Europe’s top six leagues, with 279 coming during his time in La Liga.
Ronaldo scored 84 goals in the Premier League at Manchester United before joining Real, while he netted three in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon. Prior to Sunday, the 32-year-old was just behind Greaves at the top of the pile, with the former England striker scoring 366 goals during his illustrious career.
While Gerd Muller sits third in the list on 365 goals, the only active player in the top 10 other than Ronaldo currently sits fourth; Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. The Argentine has scored 335 goals, all coming in Spain, but faces a challenge catching his long-time rival at the summit.
The likes of Steve Bloomer, Dixie Dean and Delio Onnis follow Messi, while Alan Shearer sits ninth on 283 goals from his time at Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United.
Ronaldo has now scored 19 goals in 21 La Liga appearances this season, as he looks to fire Zinedine Zidane’s men to the title ahead of Barcelona.
With that in mind, here’s the list of the top 10 goalscorers in Europe’s top six leagues in full:
