Ronaldo Is Ready To Start Games, Erik Ten Hag Says

Cristiano Ronaldo is “ready to start” in the majority of Manchester United’s games this season, Erik Ten Hag has revealed.

Ronaldo was relegated to the bench for the start of the new season amid heated transfer rumors that he will leave Old Trafford.

However, Red Devils manager Ten Hag thinks the striker is now completely match fit and prepared to start for the Red Devils on a regular basis.

This points at Ronaldo possibly getting what will be just his second start of the 22/23 campaign.

What Did Ten Hag Say?

Ten Hag stated that Ronaldo is ready to start ahead of a Europa League group stage opener against Real Sociedad.

“He [Ronaldo] started against Brentford, then not since, but he is ready to start.

“Of course, he can start for the majority of games.”

Ten Hag also discussed the team’s ambition to win every competition they enter, with Ronaldo poised to play in the Europa League for the first time in almost 20 years.

“We have to win every game, we want to win every tournament, so we take everything serious,” he added.

The Portuguese captain will be attempting to force his way into Ten Hag’s best XI as the season go along. He’ll also hope to enter peak shape for the World Cup in Qatar in November.
