Ronaldo Set For Reunion With Star As Al-Nassr Close In On Signing

Juventus goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny is reportedly set to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia as Al-Nassr are said to be in talks to bring the Polish shot-stopper to the Middle East.

Szczesny once said he ‘doesn’t understand’ Ronaldo’s ‘obsessive’ work ethic. The two played together for three years at Juventus.

“I’m used to having the best player next to me,” Szczesny was quoted as saying by Polish outlet Przegląd Sportowy in 2021.

“First Cristiano, now Lewandowski. Whoever plays with Szczesny is the best. They are both obsessed with work and I don’t understand them both. I appreciate it, I respect it, I even like it, but it’s not my cup of tea.

“I could have endured it for six days and then injured myself. They are both superhumanly ambitious and obsessed with reaching as high as possible. I think that, for example, when it comes to diet, Lewy is even more obsessive than Cristiano.”

At Juventus, Ronaldo and Szczesny won four trophies together before the Portuguese star’s disastrous return to Manchester United in 2021.

According to The Mirror, Szczesny may follow Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Szczesny’s time in Turin may come to an end if Juventus are successful in getting Michele Di Gregorio from Monza. With Mattia Perin likely to remain as the backup goalkeeper.

Additionally, it’s said that Szczesny and Al-Nassr are in talks about him moving to Saudi Arabia, where he would be the team’s newest high-profile addition.

Al-Nassr’s roster also includes Sadio Mane, a former star player for Liverpool, ex-United full-back, Alex Telles, and former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.
