Al-Nassr Star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo could become the first footballer in history to win Golden Boot across four different leagues this season.
According to Daily Mail, the Portuguese forward now has 26 goals in 23 Saudi Pro League games this season after scoring a hat-trick in Al-Nassr’s 5-1 thumping of Al Taee on Saturday.
Ronaldo leads Aleksandar Mitrovic by four goals with nine league games remaining in the competition to be the Saudi Pro League’s top scorer of the season.
And since the former Fulham striker’s hamstring injury on Monday could keep him out for up to six weeks, it seems highly likely that Ronaldo will win the Pro League’s Golden Boot.
If he succeeded, the former star of Real Madrid and Manchester United would become the first player in history to lead the goalscoring charts in four different top divisions.
After scoring 31 goals in 34 games for United in the 2007–08 season, Ronaldo was named the Premier League’s Golden Boot winner.
After that, he won three times for Real Madrid, taking home the Pichichi Trophy, which goes to the top goalscorer in La Liga. Scoring 40 goals in 34 games during the 2010–11 season.
