Cristiano Ronaldo has taken aim at Real Madrid’s bosses for their bungled transfer business.
Much was made of rivals Barcelona’s window as they were forced to allow Neymar to join Paris Saint-Germain, after the French side broke his release clause, before failing to capture top target Philippe Coutinho.
But Real only brought in central midfielder Dani Ceballos and full back Theo Hernandez despite seeing a plethora of stars depart the Bernabeu.
James Rodriguez, who joined for £70million in 2014, was allowed to spend the season on loan at Bayern Munich, while experienced centre back Pepe joined Besiktas.
Chelsea managed to pinch Alvaro Morata for £60m, after a faltering campaign in La Liga, he was joined in the Premier League by Danilo – who signed for Manchester City.
And superstar Ronaldo has hit out at the Spanish giant’s wheeling and dealing, after a horror start to the season has seen them fall eight points behind Barcelona at the top of the table before losing back-to-back games to Girona and Tottenham.
“The players who have arrived have a lot of potential but Pepe, Morata, James, made us stronger, but those who are here today are younger,” the Portuguese said after Real lost 3-1 to Spurs in the Champions League.
“We also need Carvajal and Bale back from injury to make the squad stronger.
“It’s not a worse template, but they’re less experienced and that’s very important, but it’s not an excuse.
“I’m happy and the alarms can not go off.”
