Cristiano Ronaldo is back in Manchester United training delighted. The club gave the Portuguese star time off to attend to a family matter, so he has been away from the team for the duration of preseason training.
The attacking midfielder, who has informed the Old Trafford club that he wants to leave before the end of the transfer season, returned to the club this past weekend and stated that he would play in the friendly match against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

The 37-year-old has expressed his happiness at rejoining the team.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has stated that he wants to leave the club in the summer, returned to the training grounds of the team this week to talk about his situation with agent Jorge Mendes.
Although United does not want to let go of their top player, new manager Erik ten Hag recently recommended that Ronaldo may be able to stay longer than expected because of a contract option to add a further year.
“Yes (he could stay beyond this season), but to be honest, of course I have signed here for three years, but in football it’s short-term as well. We have to win from the start. So I don’t look that far ahead,” he said.
