Following his shocking interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United teammates reportedly believe he has disrespected the club.
The United players are also having a hard time comprehending why the 37-year-old took part in an explosive interview where he attacked Erik ten Hag and damaged the club’s reputation.
Sky Sports reports that United only learned of the interview as they were getting ready to board their flight following their 2-1 victory against Fulham on Sunday.
United will be bracing themselves for further fallout when the interview is shown in full on Wednesday and Thursday.
Clips of Ronaldo’s sit-down with Morgan on TalkTV were aired on Sunday.
In the interview, Ronaldo accuses Ten Hag and the United executives of trying to force him out of the club, saying they had “betrayed him”, claimed they “lacked empathy” following his daughters illness and even criticised Wayne Rooney.
Ronaldo’s team-mates are said to be ‘hugely disappointed’ in the 37-year-old, who told United he wanted to leave in the summer before a move failed to materialise.
