Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo got his hands on La Undecima this season with his club and has been awarded yet another gong after winning the Champions League Goal of the Season.
The 31-year-old is currently on international duty with Portugal at the European Championships in France and has certainly been feeling the criticism recently after a disappointing opening two games.
But at club level Ronaldo was his usual lethal self this season, netting 35 times in 36 La Liga games and ending the Champions League campaign as top goalscorer with 16 to his name.
Undoubtedly Ronaldo’s biggest contribution in the eyes of the public was his winning goal from the penalty spot during the shoot-out in the final against Atletico Madrid.
However, his efforts en-route the final in Milan was just as crucial and his sweetest strike was the one he grabbed against Roma in the quarter-final first leg back in February.
Real Madrid have revealed on their official website that the goal was voted for by the public on Uefa’s website where Ronaldo received 36% of the votes for his strike in the Italian capital.
The Portugal international delivered a sumptuous strike that night at the Olimpico to give Real Madrid the lead in the first leg, before Jese Rodriguez added a late second to give Los Blancos a 2-0 win.
