Danny Rose has revealed there were Tottenham players ‘crying in the changing room’ at Stamford Bridge after the game against Chelsea that killed their title chances last season.
That 2-2 draw in May confirmed Leicester City as Premier League champions as Chelsea came from two goals down to deny their London rivals the win they needed to stay in the race.
Rose admits Tottenham are still trying to get over the heartache of last season as they head into another must-win game against Monaco in the Champions League
Mauricio Pochettino’s players are desperate not to let their European dream die and Rose said: ‘The feeling after the Chelsea game last season is one that I never want to feel again.
‘There were people upset, crying in the changing room after that game.
‘It’s a feeling that we never want to feel again as a football club. I hope everyone has learned from that and we are going to try to push on this season.
‘We have worked so hard for years and years to get this opportunity and we know if we don’t win then we are more or less out of the competition.
‘So the manager will put out a strong team I am sure and we will go out to win that and then on Saturday against Chelsea.’
Tottenham travel to Chelsea for the first time since that draw in the Premier League this weekend.
