Man United reported an operational deficit of £6.9 million for the first quarter of the 2024–25 fiscal year, which will limit Ruben Amorim in the transfer market.

The penalty of missing out on the Champions League is evident in Old Trafford’s most recent financial data, which also highlight the fact that Ruben Amorim will not be able to invest heavily in rebuilding his team.
As a result of finishing seventh under Erik ten Hag last season, broadcasting income decreased by 20.4% in the quarter ending September 30 (£31.3m) as compared to the same period the previous year (£39.3m).
Matchday revenue dropped 3.3% from £27.4 million to £26.5 million during the quarter, while commercial revenue fell 5.6% from £90.4 million to £85.3 million, reports Standard.
The £8.6 million that United reported in these data was an extraordinary expense that “includes costs incurred in relation to the restructuring of the group’s operations, including the redundancy scheme implemented in the first quarter of financial year 2025.”
As previously stated, the club expects the reorganization to result in savings of between £40 million and £45 million, which they believe will improve their financial performance in 2025 and 2026.
United says it is still convinced that it will adhere to UEFA and Premier League financial regulations.
