Sadio Mane says the Liverpool squad are desperate to maintain their momentum against Leicester City next Monday.
The Senegal international returned to the Liverpool side for the visit of Chelsea as Jurgen Klopp’s side played out a 1-1 draw before a shock 2-0 loss to Hull City.
However, Mane rediscovered his best form in a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur last time out after the African striker scored twice in the first half at Anfield.
The 24-year-old has now found the net 11 times and has made four assists in 21 games in the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
Liverpool will make the trip to defending Premier League champions Leicester in their next game at King Power Stadium on Monday night.
Speaking to Liverpool’s website about the upcoming trip to the Foxes, Mane lifted the lid on what has been said in the Reds squad about the Premier League clash.
“The last few weeks have been quite difficult for obvious reasons, but we didn’t stop working during that period and that was important,” Mane said.
“But re-finding our form against Tottenham and the way we did it, we thought ‘we’re back now and we’ve got to maintain this’. We have to play the match against Leicester with the same attitude.”
Mane scored a goal and made an assist in a 4-1 win against Leicester in the Premier League at Anfield in September.
