Sadio Mane In Munich for Bayern medical After Confirming €41m Transfer From Liverpool Confirmed By Sporting Director

Sadio Mane is in Munich for a medical ahead of his €41 million (£35 million/$43 million) transfer to Bayern from Liverpool, with Hasan Salihamidzic, the Bundesliga champions’ sporting director, confirming that the forward will be joining the ranks at the Allianz Arena.

Liverpool will pay a set fee of €32 million (£27 million/$34 million) for the Senegal international, with a further €6 million (£5 million/$6 million) available based on appearances and €3 million available based on individual and team successes.

The transfer fee means that Liverpool have sold the forward for more than the £33.5million (€39m/$40m) they paid to sign him from Southampton in 2016 – but it is a significant piece of business for Bayern.

Is Sadio Mane Set To Join Bayern Munich?

The Senegalese forwards has been spotted in Germany, where he is undergoing medical tests ahead of a potential move to Bayern Munich.

Why Is Mane Leaving Liverpool?

After Liverpool’s Champions League final loss to Real Madrid in May, the 30-year-old told the club of his wish to leave.

After six years at Anfield, Mane is ready for a new challenge and implied that he would make an announcement about his future before the Champions League final.

Bayern Munich were the front-runners to sign the forward, as the German club is in dire need of more front-line reinforcements.

The Bundesliga champions are in danger of losing star striker Robert Lewandowski, who has expressed his intention to leave this summer, with Barcelona reportedly interested in signing him.
