Saka, Five Arsenal Stars Set For New Contract Discussion

Bukayo Saka is reportedly one of several players Arsenal are willing to tie down to a new, long-term contract.

At the end of the season, Saka will have two years remaining on his current deal, which he signed in 2023.

This summer, Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba will be in a similar circumstance after solidifying their status as a Premier League’s top center-back duo.

Gabriel, who has been linked to a potential summer transfer to Saudi Arabia, had initial contract negotiations with Arsenal, according to a report from Standard Sport last year.

Saliba and Saka have not yet begun speaking, but the former stated last week that he feels at ease with the circumstances.

“There is no rush at the minute. I’m happy here. That’s it,” said Saliba. “I’ve been here for two years and a half as well. There is nothing. I’m happy here and I want to continue here.

“I want to win big things with Arsenal. If you leave this club without winning anything the fans will forget about you. I want to win big things here.”

According to the Evening Standard, Andrea Berta, who is expected to take over as sporting director of Arsenal, has a sizable in-tray that includes the new contracts.

Following their breakout seasons, the team also want to tie down academy players Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri.

When they turned 17, the pair signed professional contracts, although they were limited to three-year agreements due to existing rules.

Nwaneri will be able to sign a longer contract when he becomes 18 on Friday, while Lewis-Skelly, who was called up to the senior England squad last week, may sign a longer one now that he is 18.
