Bukayo Saka is reportedly expected to return to full fitness ahead of England’s 2024 European Championship opener against Serbia on Sunday.
Despite having to miss the final Premier League match due to a muscular injury, the Arsenal star was named in Gareth Southgate’s final England squad for the competition due to take place in Germany.
The winger was able to play the last 25 minutes of the Three Lions’ shocking 1-0 loss to Iceland at home, despite missing the team’s warm-up match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to ESPN as reported by 90min, Saka should be fit enough to start their opening group stage match against Serbia.
After returning to the England camp, he has only participated in a small number of training sessions. On Tuesday, he was spotted in Jena with his teammates during an open session.
Jude Bellingham, a fellow returnee who was given more time off following Real Madrid’s Champions League final victory over Borussia Dortmund, only recently joined the squad.
It is believed that Saka will start on the right wing while Phil Foden will be on the left on Sunday, should he actually make the starting XI.

If Saka is unable to make it back in time, England will have no shortage of options, as Foden, Cole Palmer, and Jarrod Bowen can all also play from the right.
The Three Lions will play Denmark and Slovenia to wrap up their group stage campaign after playing Serbia.
