Mohamed Salah claims he chose to remain at Liverpool because he wants to win trophies with his teammates in stark contrast to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
It was revealed on Friday morning that Salah has agreed to a new deal with the Reds and will continue to lead Arne Slot’s team in the upcoming campaign.
With Virgil van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold’s futures still up in the air, he is the first of Liverpool’s three out-of-contract players to make their decision public.
Like Salah, Van Dijk is likely to put pen to paper on a new two-year deal, but Alexander-Arnold is positioned to depart on a free transfer to Real Madrid when his deal expires at the end of June.

With 32 goals and 22 assists in 45 games thus far, Salah is having his greatest season with Liverpool.
According to The Mirror, the Egyptian has stated that he believes the future is bright under Slot, especially because the Merseyside club are expected to win the Premier League title.
What Did Salah Say After Signing A New Contract With Liverpool?
“I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football,” he said.
Asked about sitting third on the club’s all-time goalscorer list, Salah replied: “It’s great but I’m more proud when we win team trophies because this is the most important thing.
When you win something with the team and are scoring goals and you are involved, that’s what people remember. Just individual awards without winning anything doesn’t feel great.”
Some Liverpool supporters may compare Salah’s remarks to Alexander-Arnold’s comments to Sky Sports in October.
When given the option to pick between winning the Ballon d’Or, winning a trophy with England, captaining Liverpool, or winning another Champions League title, the 26-year-old chose the individual prize over team honors.
“Winning a World Cup with England – that would be immense and change the game, but I’d say win a Ballon d’Or, because I believe I can. I want to be the first full-back to ever do it,” he said before adding:
“I believe it. Some people may call me deluded, but I believe I can.”
