Salah: Egypt Will Go All Out For Win Against Super Eagles

Egypt captain Mohamed Salah says the team’s target is to beat Nigeria in Tuesday’s Group D clash against Nigeria at the Stade Roumde Adjia, Garoua, reports Completesports.com.

This will be the third time the seven-time champions will be facing the Super Eagles in an opening fixture at the AFCON finals.

The North Africans won on both occasion and are looking to extend the steak to three games.

Salah, who is also looking forward to winning his first AFCON title with Egypt insisted that the team will do their best to start the competition on a winning note.

“We are not the favourites to win the Africa Cup of Nations, but we will do our best to reclaim the title,” Salah said in his pre-match press conference.

“I’m only one of eleven players that represent Egypt. We will do everything we can to come on top in tomorrow’s match and in the tournament as a whole.

“We have to work very hard to live up to our expectations, playing every game as a team to win.

“I am yet to win my first title with Egypt, it would be an honour to win the AFCON, it’s been ten years since I started representing my country, and lifting the trophy would mean a lot to me.”
