Salah Makes Final Shortlist For Best FIFA Men’s Player Of The Year Award 

Pharoahs of Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been shortlisted for The Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year award.

Salah was shortlisted in the final three-man nominees that was announced on FIFA’s Twitter handle on Friday.

He will contest the award with current holder Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi.

Salah is the Premier League’s top goalscorer so far this season, with 16 to his name, and is arguably in the best form of his life.

The Egypt star is currently with his national team preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations but has been nominated after a blistering start to the season at club level.

He will hope to land a first ever AFCON title and Egypt’s eight.

They will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their first game on Tuesday in Garoua.

The Men’s FIFA Best award is voted for by a jury made up of current men’s national team coaches and captains, one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team and fans registered on FIFA.com.

Meanwhile, other categories for the award include: Women’s Player of the Year; Men’s Coach of the Year, which has Pep Guardiola, Roberto Mancini and Thomas Tuchel in contention, Women’s Coach of the Year and FIFA Puskas award for the best goal.
