Saliba Insists He Is “So Happy” At Arsenal Amid Contract Talks

While contract negotiations go on behind the scenes, William Saliba has insisted he is “so happy” at Arsenal as the team makes an increasingly compelling case for the Premier League title.

Following a 2-0 derby victory over Tottenham on Sunday, the Gunners now lead by eight points at the top of the Premier League table.

Martin Odegaard’s long-range shot and an own goal by Hugo Lloris gave Arsenal their first-ever victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and moved them further ahead at the top of the table.

After three loan spells away from north London, France international Saliba made his debut at the beginning of the season and has since played a significant role in the club’s turnaround.

Will William Saliba Renew With Arsenal?

Given the caliber of his performances, he is expected to sign a new contract with Arsenal and is willing to allow contract negotiations to proceed in the background as Mikel Arteta’s team pursues victory.

“We are so happy because the derby is a big game, and it was an away game too,” he said.

“We know it’s not easy to win here. So we are so happy, we didn’t concede one goal and we scored two.
