Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez looks set to leave the club this summer after a dressing room bust-up with his team-mates in the aftermath of Wednesday’s 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich.
The Chilean has less than 18 months to run on his existing deal at the Emirates and negotiations over a new contract have slowed in recent weeks.
The 28-year-old has been concerned about Arsene Wenger’s future and wanted clarifications over the Frenchman’s plans before committing to the Gunners.
However, Wednesday’s crushing 5-1 defeat was a turning point in Sanchez’s time at the club and, according to the Sun, the winger was embroiled in a furious bust-up with his team-mates at the Allianz Arena.
Sanchez was angry at the manner of the Gunners’ defeat and was seen crouching with his hand over his mouth on the halfway line when Thomas Muller scored Bayern’s fifth on the night.
It’s the latest in a long line of public outbursts from the former Barcelona forward and the Chilean’s body language was particularly concerning in Germany.
Sanchez travelled back to London with his team-mates on Thursday morning but was then granted leave by the club, where he opted to travel to Italy.
