A Saudi Pro League marketing chief announced that teams in the region have set their sights on signing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
The 31-year-old’s future has been placed in doubt several times in recent years, especially when he refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona in 2021.
Salah’s admission was expected to have put both Clasico giants on high alert, but the Egypt international instead pledged his future to Liverpool until 2025 last summer.
Salah will soon approach the final two years of his contract, and while a move to Paris Saint-Germain has been speculated for this summer, it is not currently thought plausible.
Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, recently dismissed reports that his client had met with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, after earlier dismissing “nonsense” claims of the attacker leaving Anfield.
However, Hafez Al-Medlej, the head of the AFC Marketing Committee, has stated that Salah is of interest to the Saudi Pro League, though he has admitted that the Liverpool man may prefer to keep breaking records on Merseyside before a possible approach.
“We must also start working on the signing of Mohamed Salah, since he is overwhelmingly popular in the Arab world and in Europe. I think Salah still has records to break with Liverpool, so I hope that if he doesn’t come now he will in the future.”

A slew of big names have already agreed to join Saudi Arabian clubs this summer, including Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante, whose former Chelsea teammates Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy, and Kalidou Koulibaly are poised to join him.
Multiple Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly interested in Arsenal’s Thomas Partey, but Salah is expected to stay in Liverpool after a record-breaking season under Jurgen Klopp.
