Scoring goals is not my job in Chelsea, it’s more than that – Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas has explained what he likes about his current Chelsea role in Antonio Conte’s side.
The Spain international has found his first-team opportunities limited in the Chelsea outfit this term following the Italian’s appointment as Guus Hiddink’s successor.
Fabregas, though, has seized his chance to impress when given a rare chance to start a Premier League game for the current leaders.
Indeed, the 29-year-old midfielder netted Chelsea’s opening goal in a 3-1 win against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge last weekend to help Conte’s side extend their unbeaten run.
Fabregas has scored three goals and made seven assists despite six of his 19 appearances in the English top flight coming from the bench this term.
Speaking to Chelsea’s website about his current role in Conte’s team ahead of their short trip across the English capital to West Ham United at London Stadium on Monday night, Fabregas said:
“Scoring a goal is beautiful. It’s a fantastic feeling. If you score the goal you are on the top of everyone at that moment. But I know it’s not my job. And I love my job – which is creating, assisting, making movements left, right, forward, controlling a game. Sometimes you feel under control of a game.”
Chelsea are seven points ahead of their closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the title race.
