Seamus Coleman Latest As Everton Star Confirms Positive Injury Update

Seamus Coleman was stretchered off during the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Leicester City on Monday evening.

Seamus Coleman has allayed fears that he will be out for a lengthy time after being stretchered off during Everton’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City, stating that he has no damage to his anterior cruciate ligament.

After colliding with Boubakary Soumare soon before halftime, the Blues’ club captain was carried off the field on a stretcher during the Premier League clash with relegation-threatened Leicester City at the King Power Stadium according to Irish Mirror

Despite lying on the turf in agony, Coleman attempted to rally both the Everton players and the 3,000 away fans as he left the field with his side trailing 2-1 after Caglar Soyuncu and Jamie Vardy had cancelled out Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s penalty in the 15th minute.

With the defender’s contract expiring at the end of June, supporters were concerned that the Republic of Ireland international, who came from Sligo Rovers in 2009 for £60,000, would have played his final game for the club. But in a social media post shared by the club this morning, Coleman said: “Just wanted to update you all, thanks so much for all the well wishes, just back from my scan & pleased to say I have no ACL damage. Be back soon”.

However, it remains to be seen whether the right-back will play any further part in Everton’s battle to avoid a first Premier League relegation, with the Blues facing games against Brighton, Manchester City, Wolves and Bournemouth between now and May 28.
