Al-Hilal midfielder, Reuben Neves is reportedly set to remain at the club beyond January transfer window amid interest from clubs in Europe.
Neves moved to Saudi Arabia in the summer after five years with Wolves in the Premier League.
However, Newcastle United have expressed interest in bringing him back to the Premier League on a loan deal for the second half of the season.
Eddie Howe has acknowledged that he is an admirer of the midfield player. Al-Hilal and Newcastle are both owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), rivals are concerned about associated party transfers. And a deal is said to be on the cards.
At a shareholder meeting today, Premier League clubs are scheduled to cast their votes on whether to impose a temporary restriction on loaning players from teams owned by the same entity. Approval of the new regulation will require a two-thirds majority.
As The Athletic reports, Neves is expected to stay at Al-Hilal regardless of the outcome of what is sure to be a close call.
According to their report, Al-Hilal have not been approached by any other team or engaged in discussions. So, it appears that he will not be moving ahead at this time.
Newcastle intend to add a midfielder to their squad in January in order to meet the demands of competing both domestically and in Europe.

Arsenal are also believed to be interested in the-26-year-old as they look to strengthen the middle of the park following Thomas Partey’s injury problems.
