Sergio Aguero Demands £2.5million From Barcelona After Unexpected Retirement

After a free transfer from Etihad Stadium, the Argentine great joined the Spanish powerhouses in the summer of 2021.

Aguero’s career abruptly ended during his brief tenure at Barcelona because he had chest symptoms during a match against Alaves.

The event was later linked to an arrhythmia. Aguero only made five appearances and scored one goal during that time.

He announced his retirement at a press conference following thorough medical evaluations, reports Manchester Evening

It has now been revealed that Aguero is demanding large compensation from Barcelona. The Striker is seeking a €3 million payoff (roughly £2.5 million) as part of a settlement for quitting his work early.

Aguero still had a year and a half remaining on his Barcelona contract which included a noteworthy buyout clause at €100 million (£84 million) when he decided to put up his boots.

The 36-year-old was forced to retire from professional football but he was itching to play again. He played for his old squad, City, in a 7-vs-7 competition during the summer.

Sergio Aguero felt compelled to deny reports that he may play football again earlier this year, suggesting that he might train with the Argentine team Independiente.
