Sergio Ramos has turned down the chance to sign for Manchester United for a second time as he looks set to join PSG.
The centre-half is set to sign for the Ligue 1 side on a two-year deal after leaving Real Madrid as a free agent.
But it has been reported by the Daily Star that Ramos rejected the chance to join United in favour of a switch to Paris.
The Spaniard held talks with United chiefs over a possible switch to the Premier League and Old Trafford before making his decision.
The Red Devils were willing to offer him a one-year contract, with an option of a second, in a deal worth up to £10million.
But it wasn’t enough to convince Ramos to make the move to Manchester as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now turns his attention to his former team-mate Raphael Varane who is set to leave Madrid this summer.
And it’s not the first time Ramos has snubbed a move to Man Utd.
He revealed he turned down an offer from United five years ago but was flattered that a club of their stature was keen on signing him.
In an interview with COPE, he said: “There was an offer from United. I considered changing for a while but Real Madrid was always my priority and there were no economic reasons.
“Did I feel cheated [by Madrid]? No, but I did feel disappointed for a while. There were some troubles that came to an end.
“Flattery from big clubs is always good as this is because you are doing well, but the fans and my club want me.”
