Sevilla have reportedly rejected Chelsea’s €55 million (£47m/$56m) transfer offer for Jules Kounde. The Liga giants are willing to selling this summer, but will reject any bid that falls below their €65m (£55m/$66m) asking price.
They are aware that there are other clubs interested in signing the player, including those outside the Premier League, and that those in Andalusia will continue to have the upper hand in any negotiations.
Will Chelsea Sign Kounde From Sevilla?
The France international defender finds himself at the center of yet another lengthy transfer saga, having spent many windows now dominating gossip articles.
Chelsea have long been admirers of the highly-rated 23-year-old, who is eager to accept a fresh challenge and has indicated to his current employers his wish to experience a fresh start.
A bid from west London has been submitted, but it has been rejected along with an opening offer that contains several prospective add-ons.
Although the negotiations are still in their early stages, it is anticipated that Chelsea will shortly make a follow-up offer that is more favorable.

Will Barcelona Make A Bid?
Barcelona have also been strongly linked with an offer for Kounde, so it’s not just the Blues who are casting adoring glances in his direction.
Joan Laporta has confirmed that the Blaugrana are ready to focus on defensive reinforcements following the additions of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski.
Discussions with Chelsea about Cesar Azpilicueta are ongoing, while Andreas Christensen has already been signed as a free agent after his contract at Premier League giants expired, but asking prices are also a problem.
Sevilla is certain that Barca will be able to match the terms offered by England and won’t try to sweeten a deal with potential player exchange clauses.
