England great, Alan Shearer has reportedly revealed Jude Bellingham was not happy with Gareth Southgate following his plan to him on the left wing in the Three Lions’ 2-1 defeat to Spain in the 2024 Euros final.
A late winner from Real Sociedad forward, Mikel Oyarzabal ensured England were left heartbroken yet again after their Euro 2020 final loss to Italy three years ago.
Nico Williams gave the Spanish side the lead, but super sub Cole Palmer leveled the score shortly after he was introduced with a beautiful finish.
After England advanced to both the 2018 World Cup semifinal and the final of Euro 2020, it was yet another sad end to a competition under Southgate.
Football pundit, Shearer claims Bellingham was not pleased with Southgate because of the England manager’s tactics during the final match.
According to Caught Offside, the Newcastle legend believes Bellingham wasn’t convinced to play on the left side after yet another lackluster performance in the England jersey.
Shearer stated, speaking on the podcast The Rest is Football: “Bellingham wasn’t happy. He was stuck on the left again. You could tell he wasn’t happy at all.
“He had a disappointed look about him, his arms were up, he was looking towards the bench for guidance. He could see things weren’t going well and he wasn’t happy with the lack of press and everything else.

“He was showing all of those emotions. I could see it, I was looking at him all the time. He was showing it to the bench.
“He’s not a left midfielder is he so I sort of understood his emotions. I was really surprised Gareth Southgate went back to four at the back.”
