As part of the Manchester United takeover agreement, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazers reportedly agreed not to criticize each other. The INEOS owner has now purchased a 25% stake in his boyhood club for £1.03 billion and hopes to begin restoring the club’s footballing side.
After over 12 months of speculation, it was announced on Christmas Eve that United had sold a 25 per cent stake to Ratcliffe. The news has come as a welcome boost for supporters following their shaky start to the season that has seen Erik ten Hag come under immense pressure.

Despite his desire to have an immediate effect at Old Trafford, Ratcliffe has asked fans for ‘patience’ and ‘time’ so that he can ensure that his next actions are the best ones for everyone.
United fans have become impatient of the Glazers’ regression, with transfer cash invested in subpar players and the stadium itself in desperate need of TLC to bring it up to the standards of other major European clubs.
However, Ratcliffe won’t be the one to call out the Glazers for their inadequacies, it has emerged. According to The Telegraph, a ‘mutual non-disparagement’ clause was included in the takeover deal to ensure that any ‘ill feeling and hostilities’ are not made public whilst they are operating together.
