A report claims that one of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s transfer targets for Manchester United is a striker with comparable skill to Harry Kane.
According to 90 mins, Ratcliffe has committed to buy a 25% share in United, but the Premier League must still approve his deal before the team can formally bring him on board. On Sunday, he stated that he anticipates receiving this confirmation in February.
Ratcliffe has accepted a “Transfer Plan” with United, according to 90min earlier, which mandates that the team will mainly concentrate on outgoings during the January transfer window.
Long-term, it seems the Red Devils are strengthening their approach. According to The Evening Standard, adding a new center forward who is “a similar level to Kane” is one of their top priorities. They also intend to add a new midfielder, right back, and center back. Before he signed with Bayern Munich last summer, Kane was linked to a move to the United States.
Rasmus Hojlund, a striker, was signed by United from Atalanta for an initial fee of £64 million last summer; if all add-ons are fulfilled, this amount could increase to £72 million. Ratcliffe watched the Denmark international score his second Premier League goal of the year in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Old Trafford.
With just 21 Premier League games played so far this season, Erik ten Hag’s team has scored the fewest goals of any team currently occupying the top half.
United has their eye on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise as a winger and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo as a center-back on their shortlist.
Hannibal Mejbri, 20, has moved on a temporary loan from United to Sevilla, with the Spanish team holding a £17 million option to make the move permanent.
