Liverpool manager, Arne Slot has reportedly refused to make any comment on Virgil van Dijk contract negotiations after the Reds captain confirmed progress had been made on talks.
The Dutchman’s existing contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
Three players, including the center-back, will be free agents in the summer. With the announcement of Mohamed Salah’s new two-year contract on Friday morning, one player has already extended his time at Anfield.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, the other, seems more and more likely to sign as a free agent with Real Madrid. The only player left is Van Dijk, who is anticipated to join Salah in prolonging his stay on Merseyside.

As Liverpool soared to the top of the Premier League this season, the three players’ futures have taken center stage in the media. Slot has consistently refused to talk about the negotiations since he arrived last summer.
According to The Mirror, the former Feyenoord head coach stuck to same position on Friday following the announcement of Salah’s new contract. The Reds manager was questioned about Van Dijk after being asked about the Egyptian’s contract.
“You know the answer!” Slot replied. “The boring one as always. We talk about contracts if they are signed, so we talk about Mo. I am very happy with Virgil this season he has been incredible for us.
The Reds are set to host West Ham United on Sunday as they aim to put their loss to Fulham behind them.
