Liverpool head coach, Arne Slot has reportedly viewed and willing to sign Barcelona defender, Ronald Araujo as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
As Liverpool move into their final nine games of the Premier League season, Slot is leading the Reds to the top of the league.
With contracts expiring in the summer for three Liverpool players—Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Van Dijk—their futures have been the primary source of tension this season.
While a report on Tuesday stated that Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal are certain of securing a deal for Salah, Alexander-Arnold now appears to be ready to join Real Madrid in the summer.

Van Dijk has always appeared to be the most likely of the three to stay due to a lack of firm interest in him. But Liverpool supporters are becoming uneasy about the lack of updates regarding the Netherlands international’s future.
According to reports from last month, Van Dijk, the captain of Liverpool, will “say goodbye” to the Reds at the end of the season and move to Paris Saint-Germain, as his “new destination.”
Furthermore, according to Football 365, Liverpool are now looking for a replacement to take the place of the Dutchman. Therefore, they are knocking on Barcelona’s door” for Araujo.
To Slot, Araujo is the “ideal successor to Van Dijk, as he possesses many of the attributes that have made the Dutchman one of the world’s best defenders.”
Even though Araujo has repeatedly stated that he wants to stay at Barcelona, the club’s financial circumstances may compel him to think about leaving.
