Struggling Southampton will attempt to stop Leicester in their tracks when they clash at St Mary’s on Friday night. Ralph Hasenhuttl is a man under pressure after picking up just one point from their last four league games, while Southampton could lose six of their opening 10 matches of a Premier League season for the first time since 2012-13.
They possess the worst home record in the division, earning just a single point and failing to keep a clean sheet, and have only won once at St Mary’s since March.
Anything but a victory could see Southampton end the weekend in the bottom three and with serious questions to answer.
Moussa Djenepo, a summer signing from Standard Liege, is back in training after six weeks out with a hip injury although the winger isn’t available for the clash with the Foxes.
Meanwhile, defender Cedric Soares is still on the treatment table with a calf injury and will likely need another week to fully recover.
Leicester have been an exciting team to watch this term and are thriving under the tutelage of former Liverpool and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
The 2015-16 Premier League winners have lost just five games since he was appointed as Claude Puel’s successor in February.
They start the weekend in third spot and will leapfrog Manchester City if they earn all three points on the south coast.
Rodgers has a fully-fit squad as James Maddison is now back to full fitness after a recent bout of illness restricted his playing time against Burnley last weekend.
Southampton and Leicester squared off on three occasions last season and the East Midlanders earned two victories. The away side won in each of their league meetings, while Leicester prevailed after a penalty shoot-out in the EFL Cup.
