Spurs line up two January targets

Tottenham have been linked with moves for Denis Zakaria and Ferran Torres in the build up to the January transfer window. Midfielder Zakaria has been in fine form for Bundesliga pacesetters Borussia Monchengladbach this season and the Switzerland international’s performances have seen him linked with a host of European giants.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are believed to be keen, while Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are also keeping tabs on the 22-year-old defensive midfielder.
Spurs have now joined his lengthy list of suitors and they may face further competition from some Premier League rivals as Manchester United and Arsenal are keen on Zakaria.
With Gladbach leading the way in Germany they are reluctant to cash-in in Zakaria in the January window but could still be convinced to sell in the winter window, with reports suggesting a fee of €50million would be enough to seal a deal.
The former Young Boys star is under contract at Borussia Park until 2022 and if he doesn’t agree an extension in the coming months Gladbach may well be open to offers in January.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is also keen to boost his attacking options and Valencia winger Torres has now emerged as a target.
The Spain U21 international broke into the Los Che team in the 2017-18 season and then managed 24 La Liga appearances last term.
Torres, 19, has firmly established himself as a regular at the Mestalla this season and Spurs have been keeping an eye on his progress.
Valencia are keen to keep hold but Torres will enter the final year of his deal at the end of the campaign and the Spanish outfit know his value will depreciate after the January window closes.
Reports indicate a €20m bid would be enough to snare Torres in the winter window, although Spurs could face competition from Liverpool and BVB.
