Spurs star retains top-four belief

Moussa Sissoko says Tottenham haven’t given up on securing a top-four spot just yet. Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by Sheffield United at home in Saturday and are 11 points adrift of Manchester City in fourth spot.
The north London outfit are 14th in the table and are without a win in their last five Premier League games, with their last victory coming against Southampton at the end of September.
Sissoko is well aware his side need to rediscover their form quickly if they are to qualify for next season’s Champions League through the Premier League but he insists they can still recover the gap. “Of course we are far, far behind the top four, but the season is long and we can still win a lot of games,” he told Sky Sports. “It will not be easy but we know we have the qualities to do it. When we come back [after the international break] we will try to catch the teams in front of us and see where we are at the end of the season.”
Spurs have managed just three wins in their opening 12 Premier League games and are yet to win on their travels this term.
Tottenham’s three wins came in their first four home games of the season and since then they have been held by strugglers Watford and the promoted Blades, and Sissoko says they have to make the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a “fortress” if they are to climb the standings.
Tottenham travel to West Ham in the next round of fixtures after the international break and then entertain Greek outfit Olympiakos in the Champions League, knowing a win will see them through to the knockout stages with a game to spare.
