Luis Suarez may find himself in hot water once again with Fifa after the Barcelona striker gave the finger to the crowd after Uruguay suffered a 3-1 defeat to Chile.
The crucial World Cup 2018 qualifier went in Chile’s favour and Suarez could not hide his frustration with the result after a masterclass from Alexis Sanchez fired his country to victory.
Suarez has been banned previously from international football after he was found guilty of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini in the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
The former Liverpool star served a nine match suspension as a result, but he may be in line for another ban after losing his temper with the Chile fans in the Estadio Nacional de Chile stadium.
There is a precedent for this type of offence with Eduardo Vargas falling foul of the Fifa Disciplinary Committee earlier this year.
The Chile striker was banned for two games in January after he showed his middle finger to the Uruguay fans as he left the pitch during a 3-0 defeat for Chile.
Uruguay are still in a good position in their hunt for qualification as they sit second in the table with 23 points and just four points behind leaders Brazil.
