Nigeria had their first training session in Russia ahead of their opening group D game of World Cup 2018 game against Croatia on Saturday in Essentuki.
It appears Chelsea star Victor Moses is in danger of missing out on a starting spot for the game on Saturday.
Leicester City ace Ahmed Musa looks prime to take his place in the starting line up as he put up another lively performance in training playing for the team who are likely to start against Croatia.
Musa was very commanding with the ball at his feet and his pace troubled the defenders he was up against, a continuation of the good form he has been showing in training since before the game against Czech Republic.
On the other hand Moses is yet to truly get his bearing right in training and even in the games he played. A situation which the technical crew are linking to possible burn out as he was heavily involved in Chelsea’s campaign in the just ended season.
The training session witnessed a practice match between the players of the team in a manner of the possibles against the probables.
Coach Gernot Rohr supervised the session and it ended 2-1 in favour of the team likely to start against Croatia on Saturday in Nigeria’s first World Cup 2018 group game.
The game ended 2-1 in favour of the team with players likely to start against Croatia as goals from Ahmed Musa and captain John Obi Mikel powered them to victory despite Kelechi Iheanacho netting for the B team.
