Swinton have snapped up Wigan youngster Sam Grant on a one-year deal, and the outside back is looking forward to the challenge ahead. Despite having plenty of promise, the 20-year-old failed to make his senior debut for the Warriors and is looking forward to a fresh start with the Lions. “I’m really looking forward to the season ahead,” said Grant, who has had loan spells in the Championship with Leigh and Rochdale. “I’m also looking forward to meeting my new team mates and getting involved during pre season. Hopefully I can contribute into making 2020 a good year for both the club and supporters.” Lions head coach Stuart Littler is also delighted with the deal and believes he will be a valuable asset. “Sam is a very experienced academy star who has already had some success in his career,” he added. “I am pleased to say after meeting Sam a couple of times he sees us as a good fit for the next stage of his career. “Sam will challenge for a centre berth, but he can also adequately cover the wing position.”
