Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly kept muted about the possibility of signing for Barcelona as a free agent following Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s injury.
The 34-year-old Polish goalkeeper is seen as the top candidate to replace the injured German and strengthen Barcelona’s goalkeeping options.
Szczesny, who was just given a farewell homage by Juventus, is currently in Marbella with his family. When approached by Mundo Deportivo, he declined to comment on Barcelona’s interest in him.
Szczesny has shown his support for Ter Stegen, who will require a protracted recuperation due to damage to his patellar tendon.
Since he and Ter Stegen are close friends, the former Arsenal shot-stooper expressed his best wishes for the goalie. He said he hopes Ter Stegen recovers completely.

Szczesny had originally intended to retire after his Juventus contract expired. But it appears that the Catalan club’s interest caused him to change his mind.

According to reports, Barca have made contact with the seasoned goalie over a potential contract for the current campaign.
Szczesny and the Blaugrana are reportedly already in advanced negotiations. It is said that both sides are attempting to complete the agreement as quickly as possible.
