Szczesny Sends ‘I’m Ready’ Message To Flick

New Barcelona signing, Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly indicated that he is ready to come into the team’s starting fold ahead of a tough week for the Catalan club.

Following Barcelona captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s severe knee injury, the Blaugrana swiftly snapped up former Juventus shot-stopper Wojciech Szczesny and reached an agreement three days later.

Szczesny has previously stated that he is joining the team to complement Inake Pena rather than to replace him. Though he will undoubtedly be vying for the starting position.

According to numerous reports, Szczesny is regarded as Barcelona’s top option. But Pena may be included because of the team’s upcoming clashes against Sevilla, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.

According to Football Espana, Szczesny has assured Flick that he is now ready to go.

“I have prepared these two weeks to be ready. If I play or not, it is a decision of the coach that I have to respect. But I train to play the game, and mentally I am already prepared,” he said.

The Polish veteran did admit that the initial return to professional football was not easy though.

“The first ones were tough from a physical point of view, and even more so the goalkeepers, who work alone and it’s not very fun.

“But this week, when I joined the group, it has already been very fun and stimulating, because you play games and make jokes with your teammates.”
