Erik ten Hag has refused to blame Andre Onana but said Manchester United are conceding too many goals after their disappointing 3-3 draw against Galatasaray at the RAMS Park in the matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League.
After losing three of their last four Group A matches, Wednesday’s crucial match in Istanbul got off to an incredible start with a Bruno Fernandes rocket following Alejandro Garnacho’s early effort.
Onana will be disappointed to have been beaten by a free-kick that Hakim Ziyech scored to pull one back. And he made an even worse mistake after Scott McTominay scored Man United’s third.
The summer signing somehow failed to stop another free-kick from Ziyech, and substitute Kerem Akturkoglu quickly lazer past him as the crazy encounter ended 3-3.
With five Group A games played, the Red Devils have conceded 14 goals, which put them bottom of their group going into the final round of play.
“We scored also quickly after each other,” Ten Hag said as reported by the ChronicleLive. “It’s about the point when you are leading, when you are 2-0 up and you have to manage the game. Not so easy.
“We give free-kicks away and we have to defend them better twice. I have to say also that is Hakim. He is brilliant, I know that. He is extraordinary.

“I think as a team we played very well,” Ten Hag said when asked about Onana. “We win and lose together. You see the progress in this team. I take many positives from this game. Some mistakes. We played like I want my team to play.”
