Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has been reported to ‘welcome’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s plans for a change at the club.
The Dutch manager is said to be dissatisfied with the way the club has brought in players over the previous 18 months.
Ratcliffe is hoping to acquire a 25% share in the Red Devils after Sheikh Jassim withdrew from the United takeover process. The Brit will be holding conversations with the Glazer family in the coming days.
The owner of INEOS had previously expressed interest in fully acquiring United. But he was unwilling to match the reported £7 billion valuation. Rather, the 70-year-old recently changed his offer with the intention of paying about £1.3 billion for a minority stake in the club.
Ratcliffe reportedly stated during the negotiations with the Glazers that he would prefer to manage the football aspect of the outfit and let the American family focus less on on-field issues.
Ratcliffe will enter with the aim of bringing in his own personnel and shaking up the ranks. With a particular emphasis on enhancing the club’s transfer activities.
The Daily Mail as cited by The Express claims that Ten Hag, who has been “frustrated” by the club’s recruitment since coming to England, will approve the plans.
The way the club have conducted transfer businesses over the past 18 months has frustrated the former Ajax manager. And a major contributing element to the 53-year-old annoyance is the absence of direction from the club’s higher authorities.
