Chelsea have suffered a setback with defender John Terry ruled out of their game with Hull City this weekend.
The Blues visit Hull on the back of consecutive defeats in the Premier League and will have to make do without their captain, according to the Times.
The newspaper reports that the experienced defender trained with the first- team for the past four days, but he hasn’t passed his fitness test meaning the Blues will be without their skipper.
Terry sustained an ankle injury in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at Swansea City a moment that became a turning point for Antonio Conte’s men.
Subsequent defeats to Liverpool, at Stamford Bridge, before their humbling at the Emirates, leaves them eight points behind leaders Manchester City.
In their last two games, they’ve conceded five goals the same amount with Terry across their first four matches this season.
“I can’t even put into words how much being injured and missing today’s game hurts,” Terry wrote on Instagram after watching Chelsea lose 3-0 at the Emirates last weekend.
Conte is left with the same group of defenders that were at his disposal last time out. Initially starting with a back-four against the Gunners, the Italian tactician switched to a back-three and could retain that formation on Saturday.
