The Champions League draw took place in Istanbul. The country that will host this season’s final at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium on June 10, fondly remembered by Liverpool supporters for the scene of their famous comeback victory over AC Milan in 2005.
Twenty-six teams qualified automatically for the Champions League group stage via their 2021/22 league position, while six further teams booked their places via the play-offs.
The 32 teams will be split into four seeding pots.
Pot 1 consists of the holders, Real Madrid, Europa League winners, Eintracht Frankfurt. Also, the champions of the six highest-ranked nations in Europe.
Pots 2 to 4 are determined by club coefficient rankings.

When Are The Group Stages?
The group stages begin on September 6th and 7th, with the final matchday around November 1st and 2nd with the World Cup lurking.

- Group A: Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, Rangers
- Group B: Porto, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Club Brugge
- Group C: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Viktoria Plzen
- Group D: Frankfurt, Tottenham, Sporting, Marseille
- Group E: AC Milan, Chelsea, Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb
- Group F: Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk, Celtic
- Group G: Man City, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Copenhagen
- Group H: PSG, Juventus, Benfica, Maccabi Haifa

There are some mouth watering clashes to look forward to in the group stages. Top of it all has to be Barca v Bayern Munich in group C.
Lewandowski would surely be excited at the prospect of playing his old club and friends.
PSG v Juventus would definitely pull some crowd too as well as Man city v Dortmund in a game that sees Haaland head back to Germany.
Meanwhile, defending champions were handed a pretty easy group and will begin their title defence facing RB Leipzig, Shakhter Donetsk and Celtic.
