However, not wanting fans to lose out on the historic event, The Killers interrupted their act and broadcast the final few minutes of the match on the venue’s large screens, with ITV’s commentary playing out as England led 2-1 after a thrilling injury-time goal.
When the final whistle rang and England’s position in Sunday’s final was confirmed, red and white streamers flew into the joyful throng from the stage, and The Killers started into their legendary song, My Brightside.

And The O2 will be back in football mode, with London Mayor Sadiq Khan announcing that the venue will host the capital’s largest screening of the final. The ballot for tickets opens at 10 a.m. tomorrow (12 July) on the City Hall website.
