With just a few weeks left until the iconic UCL anthem returns to our lives, Champions League excitement has reached new heights following Thursday’s group stage draw.
After making significant summer transfers, two of the world’s top attackers will square off against their old clubs. Robert Lewandowski’s Barcelona takes on Bayern Munich in an enthralling match-up.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland will also visit his former clubside with Manchester City, who were paired with Borussia Dortmund.
Another similar club-player reunion will see Angel Di Maria take on Paris Saint Germain.
He left PSG for Juventus in the summer, although he is currently out injured. It remains to be seen if he’ll be able to feature in the games at all.
The pairings of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Paris Saint-Germain with Benfica, Juventus, and Maccabi Haifa makes for an intriguing match-up as well.

Which UCL Group Is “The Group Of Death”?
Last season, Barcelona and Bayern Munich were paired in the same group. The games at the Allianz Arena and the Camp Nou both ended 3-0 in favour of Bayern.
Of course, Barcelona would be looking to set the record straight against Bayern with their new look team. However, as if it wasn’t already worse being paired with Bayern, Italian giants Inter were also drawn in the group.

The three European giants easily make this the group of death, who saw Viktoria Plzen come out of pot 4 to close the group.
